Artist Statement

Based on my experience of living in over 25 places, I explore the impermanence of home as a place where memories are made, and as an emotional sanctuary rather than just a physical structure. Working with a diverse range of materials—like screenprints, cyanotypes, ceramics, and found wood—I explore memory, fading spaces, home, and belonging. Using found objects and hand-printed images, my process involves contemporary approaches to traditional processes. Inspired by assemblage artists, I remake my old works into new pieces to explore beyond what I know. By layering images from my changing surroundings, I create a feeling of nostalgia and connect my story with how others think about their own spaces. Focusing on motherhood and home as both topic and creator, I open up new ways to see and be seen. Through printmaking, collage, textiles, and sculpture, I weave through my past as I explore what home means.
