Lisa Conrad

Visual Artist

(b. 1982, New Brunswick, New Jersey) Lisa Conrad is an artist who has created a multifaceted body of work including ceramics, works on handmade paper, textiles, artist books, sculptures and prints. Conrad earned her BFA in Studio Arts and MA in Art Education from Kean University in NJ. In 2021, she relocated to Miami, FL where she currently works as a public school art teacher. For the past decade, Conrad has taught visual art instruction in public and private schools, for non-profit art centers, and in museum settings. Additionally, she is the Founder of the Newark Print Shop, a non-profit printmaking studio in Newark, NJ, where she served as the Executive Director for 10 years. Her work has been exhibited widely and is held in various private and public collections including the Newark Public Library Special Collections. Conrad is a 2025 & 2026 MIA Individual Artist Grant Recipient from the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. She was previously awarded a 2025 Newark Artist Accelerator Grant from Project For Empty Space and the Andy Warhol Foundation for her community-centered cyanotype project. In 2025, 2021 and 2020, Conrad received a Creative Catalyst Grant Award from the City of Newark Arts and Culture Department.
